My book: Meno-Wars
When ADHD and menopause intersect, the impact can feel confusing and destabilising.
Many women reach perimenopause already carrying years of undiagnosed or misunderstood neurodivergence. As oestrogen levels shift, coping strategies that once worked can falter.
Co-authored with Chantelle Knight (PG Dip Clinical Psychiatry, MSc Neuroscience and Psychology of Mental Health), Meno-wars brings together lived experience, clinical insight and practical strategies designed specifically for neurodivergent brains.
Writing this book sharpened my focus on supporting late-discovered neurodivergent women in midlife. Much of the work I now do one-to-one is rooted in these themes.

A lifeline for women with ADHD navigating perimenopause and menopause. I recently purchased Menowars and honestly, it has been a revelation. I was only recently diagnosed with ADHD, and suddenly so many things from my past made sense but that realisation came with grief for my younger self who spent years feeling confused and unsupported. This book shines a light on the unique challenges women face when ADHD intersects with hormonal changes during perimenopause and menopause. It’s written with compassion and clarity, making me feel seen and understood in a way I never have before. As a mum to a child with ADHD and autism, I recognised myself in so many of the experiences shared. I thought menopause was hard enough especially after having a hysterectomy but this book helped me connect the dots and gave me practical strategies and reassurance that I’m not alone. If you’re a woman with ADHD or suspect you might have it, and you’re struggling through hormonal changes, this book is an absolute must-read. It’s not just informative it’s validating and empowering.

This is a very validating book that really helps to explain and make sense of the complex cross overs in women’s neuro-endocrine health. Unfortunately, our medical systems are way behind in understanding this – we need books like this from thought leaders to push forwards and demand more integrated research.

If you find yourself in perimenopause and ADHD, especially if you are only discovering this about yourself now, this is a great read. Part manual, part guide and part educator it has a great way of explaining what’s happening and what to look out for in clear terms. Thank you Sharon and Chantelle for all your hard work

Menowars is a useful guide to menopause with some really handy tips on how to travel this rollercoaster and get out of the other side in one piece. An eye opener for me too about how ADHD and menopause work together and the associated symptoms. A must read for any woman with ADHD who’s on the menopause train.

Hugely informative, relatable and genuinely enjoyable to read.
Meno Wars is an absolute gem. It strikes the perfect balance between being informative and genuinely enjoyable to read. Sharon and Chantelle have clearly put so much thought into not just the content, but also the presentation: the font and layout make it incredibly accessible, particularly for neurodiverse readers who may already be navigating the added challenges of menopause. The book is packed with useful facts, practical advice, and real insight, but what truly sets it apart is the humour. It brings a sense of lightness to a stage of life that can often feel overwhelming, helping you feel understood, supported, and, importantly, able to smile along the way. A must-read for anyone going through menopause or supporting someone going through it.

This book is essential reading for people with ADHD who want to understand more about how hormones, mental health and neurotypes can impact on each other. It’s full of information, advice, guidance, and strategies. The layout is ADHD friendly and super accessible. I really liked the call to action in the final chapter. Highly recommended.
